Otto Nordenskjold, Swedish Antarctic Expedition on the ship Antarctic, 1901-1904.

1903 - Officers from the Argentinian ship Uruguay arrive at Snow Hill Island as a pre-arranged rescue for Nordenskjold and his Swedish Antarctic expedition after their ship had failed to reach South America several months previously.

Later that day Captain Larsen and 5 others arrived after rowing for 180km from Paulet Islandwith news that the crew of the ship Antarctic were still alive, they had endured an enforced winter when their ship sank 25 miles offshore, they were rescued from Paulet Island by the Uruguay.

The Snow Hill Hut built in 1902, photgraphed in 2019. The hut is maintained by the Argentine government through their Marambio station 21km away on Seymour Island
