Ernest Shackleton, Trans Antarctic Expedition on the ship Endurance, 1914 - 1917.
1914 - November or early December - looking from the Endurance to Grytviken whaling station, South Georgia. This would be the final port visited by the ship, she will be lost in the Weddell Sea in less than a year after entering in what the whalers warned was a particularly heavy ice year.
