Ernest Shackleton, Trans Antarctic Expedition on the ship Endurance, 1914 - 1917.

1914 - Shackleton:

Grog was served at midnight to all on deck. Later there was a really splendid dinner, consisting of turtle soup, whitebait, jugged hare, Christmas pudding, mince-pies, dates, figs and crystallized fruits, with rum and stout as drinks. In the evening a sing-song.

South Pole, annual Round the World Race

A tradition at the American Amundsen/Scott base at the South Pole is a "Race Around the World" on Christmas Day. Any available transport is used to travel around the geographic South Pole so passing through all time zones and lines of Longitude, meaning the participants have raced around the world, albeit at a place where it's not that far. The race course requires three revolutions and covers two miles.
