Reflected Light on Building 206

The bright spots on the wall are from sunlight reflected off the windows of Building 203-B (another dorm), as the sun is beginning to set across the sea ice. The heater/blower is usually known at McMurdo by one of two brand names: Chill Mat or Herman Nelson. This is part of a process of dewinterization, in which cold buildings are heated this way for several days before relying on the boilers.
