First comes the snow, then comes someone walking along and compressing the snow where they walk, then comes the wind, blowing away the loose snow and leaving these raised footprints, and eventually eroding them away, but not before leaving some pretty neat results, including raised footprints that are sometime cantilevered over empty spaces.
