Ringing (or otherwise molesting) a Cape Pigeon

Many Antarctic birds being sea birds have a defensive strategy of projectile vomiting semi-digested sea-food at any threat. This means that the work of an ornithologist was often smelly and unpleasant as evidenced by the malodorous residue on this Fids clothing.
