Antarctic Mountains

Heading back to base one day by skidoo having just driven through the lit-up gap at the North end of Signy Island, for a short moment, the setting sun was low enough to shine through the gap and illuminate the sea-smoke that had built up throughout the day from places where the sea was in contact with much colder air.

You can make out the layer of sea-smoke rising to about 7-10m (20-30ft) to the left of the lit-up portion of the photograph.
