Antarctic Prions or dove prions are small petrels, the subspecies banksi is found along the Scotia Arc from South Georgia to the South Sandwich Islands, South Orkney Islands and Scott Island.

They are mainly nocturnal during the breeding season,as far as possible in the circumstances with very long day length in the summer. They breed in cavities between rocks away from the worst of the wind and weather.
