Signy Island Antarctica base summer 6
The very beginning of summer with RRS Biscoe in the
background and the first load of cargo brought ashore under tarpaulins.
The cargo is resting on the old whalers "plan" the area in front of the
base where large baleen whales were hoisted ashore to be flensed.
Despite being put in place about 60 years before it was still in pretty
good shape and when the cargo had been moved elsewhere made a pretty
good volleyball court.
