Signy is in the mid-ground in this
picture, it starts where the icy spur sticking out from the camera ends.
Signy is actually a rough triangle shape longer than it is wide, from
this position you are looking along the tip of the triangle and the
island is foreshortened. It is taken from the top of Wave Peak on
Coronation Island. We would have walked out along the icy spur in front
of the camera here to get a clearer shot, but a combination of strong
winds, smoothish ice and a long way down on both sides, meant that
discretion was the better part of valour on this occasion.
