Packing Case - Scott's Hut

Even 100 years ago product placement was
important for a sponsor. There were many
companies that sponsored Captain Scott's and other
Antarctic expeditions. They would make their names and
trademarks very obvious, partly to make it easy to
identify the contents, but also so that photographs
could be taken and used for advertising purposes back
home.
The amount and variety of stores required
for a year or more (in case the ship didn't make it on
time) is quite mind boggling, more so that 100 years ago
there were vital things that we just don't use at all
today.
