Pretty as it may be, pack
ice that stays around at the end of winter just causes a lot
of problems. It's too late to get temperatures cold enough
for the ice to form again and it stops boats from being to work.
As a marine biologist it confined my sea access to just some
shallow dives near to the beach, as far as the wildlife is concerned
(swimming birds and seals that is) it's a pain to negotiate.
