After a bit of chugging up and
down we landed on the fine silt in front of the glacier where
the tide was out and there were large pieces of ice that had
broken off the front of the glacier. It was during this time
that I realised the reason for our early start as the sunlight
rapidly moved down the mountain behind us as the sun rose above
a peak in front of us that had delayed its arrival.
