The good thing about sedimentary
rock if you're a nesting bird is that the different layers erode
at different rates so providing you with some useful ledges to
build you nest on and so make it difficult for predators to get
to you. Such is the case on Prince Leopold Island where the idea
has been endorsed by about 100,000 pairs of Black Guillemots.
