In 1970 there was a United States Survey team working in Antartica. During some research through Google we discovered a mountain by the name of Mount Macnowski,(which happens to be our last name). How do you suppose the mountain came to have this name? There are other mountains with names like Mount Terwileger and Brundage. Near as we can figure, my husband was stationed at the south pole station with the navy back in the late 60's. He also shared this time with a Terwileger and Brundage. Thats all we know. Maybe someone can give us more info on how these mountains got their names.
