Default Antarctic Blogs?

I've been reading this antarctic blog for the past year, but the guy finally went home. I loved reading his posts, they were so informative and the photos ...

Does anyone know of any other good, active blogs by people in antarctica?

I just read through that one, the guy is going to be there for 2 and a half years! I don't think I could handle that, but it must be a great experience.

Hi Dracling - actually, he has just been there for two and a half years, he's due to leave in February 2006 I think, so unfortunately it's not a "live" blog for much longer. There's lots of great stuff in it though.

This one:

http://www.polarwandering.co.uk/

is currently live (as of date of this post) it's by Layla Curtis who has been awarded the 2006 Artists and Writers Fellowship Award, a joint partnership between the British Antarctic Survey and Arts Council England's International Artists Fellowships Programme. It's not a blog as such and is "arty" rather than anything else. I think I prefer real-life blogs to artistic impressions though.

I agree with you about that blog, that site took a long time to load on my T1-equivalent connection and it wasn't worth it. Are there even any text entries on that site?

Give me a down-to-earth blog any day, here are two nice ones I found:

http://www.markgwilson.com/brrr/

http://tblogs.bootsnall.com/luke/ <- from a field, camp, the first blog I've found.
