Default Salutations

Hello!

I failed to introduce myself in my first post; let me correct this error by doing so in my second.

My name is Brendan, though I'm trying to bring back my old nickname "Comrade" hence the username. I joined this site largely to get immersed in Antarctic "culture" and to get tips on applying for a job with one of the support contractors. I have relatively little job experience so I fear my opportunities may be limited, but I remain optimistic.

Welcome to the site, I stick with Brendan as I imagine there's far more people who could respond to "Comrade".

It's not so much experience that is the deciding factor as everyone has to start somewhere as having the appropriate skills to offer and how specialist those skills are.

Generalists will always have the hadrest time as the pool of applicants is the largest.

Tenacity counts for a lot, as much as anything it shows it wasn't just a whim on your part or that you just happened to see a job advertised.
