Default Antarctica Postcard

Hello from Sydney,
I was wondering if anyone know where I can purchase postcards of Macquarie Island, and Heard & MacDonald Island (part of Australia)...
Also looking for Campbell & Auckland Island card (part of New Zealand)
I can be contacted directly at Laurent4@bigpond.net.au
Thanks you from Sydney

Hello Paul,
if you are reffering to the place in Tasmania, I have indeed contacted them but they do not produce or sell postcards or could not advise who does...Any others ideas...

Laurent

You might try following up this link  http://www.70south.com/art/postcards/islands/ (although it may be that the postcards shown here are no longer in print?)

Good hunting!

Mike

Hi Laurent,

That's odd as they used to produce them I'm sure and I can't think of anyone else who would do them. Have you tried ebay? if you're very keen on getting them you'll need to visit every week or so, but over time, you'll see more and more.

Hi Laurent - you might be interested in my eBay auction item:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6245329135&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

These official Australian Antarctic postcards are produced by the Department of Science and Technology, Antarctic Division, and are not generally available to the public. There are 10 postcards in total. The subjects are:
1 Australian Antarctic base of Davis - aerial view
2 Australian Antarctic base of Casey - aerial view
3 Australian Antarctic base of Mawson - aerial view
4 Australian Antarctic base of Maquarie Island - aerial view
5 Australian Antarctic Research Ship 'Narok S'
6 Australian Antarctic Research Ship 'Thala Dan'
7 Australian Antarctic Research Ship 'Nella Dan'
8 Australian Antarctic Tractor-Train
9 Antarctic Mountains
10 Black-Browed Albatross

I do not know their date of publication, but assume around 1980.

Other Antarctic items including postcards:
