Greetings from Chicago!

My name is Mike Miller, and I just signed up to the Cool Antarctica site. This seemed like a reasonable place to make my first post.

I've long had a goal of traveling to all seven continents (the easy four down, hard three left) and found this site when searching for information on Antarctica.

I also have an ulterior motive on the timing that got me looking for more info on Antarctica again -- I'm involved in a contest where I have a good chance of winning a trip to either Las Vegas or Hawaii, and one of the ways I can significantly increase my chances to win is recruiting someone from Antarctica to be my "friend" on the site that's sponsoring the contest. I'll post more about that separately.

In any case, I've already spent nearly two hours looking through the pictures and stories on the forums before signing up and posting this, and I appreciate everything that everyone has shared!
