I was after a small amount of Halley History...
Where were the skidoos kept/serviced in Halley 5 before the Garage was built? Is it true that they were driven up and down the steps... or that one was accidentally driven off the platform? (come on, now's your chance to confess). |

They were kept outside in a row alongside the Cats and the IH. Servicing was usually done in the corridor, although cleaning the floor afterwards was a pain
They were never ridden up the stairs, they were lifted with the crane. Well, aslong as it wasn't too windy they were! They did however get ridden down the steps. Yes one did go off the platform, the cable had jammed and it shot off the platform. Quite a mess ![]() Although looking at the date of your post, I doubt you'll care much now. ![]() Last edited by imago : 2nd April 2007 at 09:11 PM. |

More information and pictures are on the Z-fids website www.zfids.org.uk
Look up "Skidoos" in the General Index. |
