General details...
Just curious about a few things if some of you have had the chance to work on the icey continent.
I understand that the work is intense, long, etc and am down for all of that. I've wanted to go work in Antarctica for a couple years now and if I can get a job with the contractor company I have a good shot of making it happen in the 2005/2006 season.
Silly stuff I want to know:
I understand you are not allowed to use your issued equipment to go out camping/etc, but are there opprotunities to go out with expedition/research groups or something of the sort so you get some experience out in the iceberg wilderness?
What does a GA generally make for a wage?
And please, if you have any stories of your experience you'd like to share I'd love to hear them - good and bad. I want to know exactly what to expect if I happen to get the chance and go...
Thanks,
Joshua
