The biggest result from that will come in the decades after you do it - some of those kids will remember that and what they did and how they felt and it will have an effect for all their lives.
I get scared sometimes being a teacher, throw-away comments and stuff you do can have far-reaching effects (remember back to your own school days), it's like looking down and seeing that the ground isn't there, just some dizzying abyss that you're skimming over. On the other hand, eyes and minds opened early on stay open wider and see further.
