I agree wholeheartedly with the need for a more simple lifestyle. I don't think it's totally at odds with a modern lifestyle however or modern technology. The biggest thing we have today is the CHOICE of how to live.
I live in the countryside in the UK, 100 years ago and more I'd have probably worked on the land like many other people around here. I'd have had to have have done it from dusk to dawn without choice - in what way would that be better?
I also have to say, there's a certain irony in such a message arriving via the internet
