Default Re: Current jobs with BAS

BAS is British. You say you live in Alaska. I don't know what requirements the BAS has, but USAP has similar positions - for power plant and water plant technicians, as well as various other trades. Our general purpose technicians are called UTs or Utility Technicians. Apparently that was a U.S. Navy grade which has since been abandoned (and of course the U.S. Navy started the U.S. programs in Antarctica), but USAP has kept it.

Americans interested in jobs in Antarctica can apply through the National Science Foundation if they are scientists or the like, and through Raytheon Polar Services (for the next year or so - the contract is up next April) for most any other job - Trades, Heavy Equipment Operators, Human Resources and Finance, Supply, you name it. (Food services and janitorial staff apply through NANA.) Google is your friend. Look for Rayjobs.
