As you are in Canada, the US programme is probably your best bet, but not being a US citizen will count against you. Having said this, supply and demand play a part, so if you have skills that are in shortage, you could well stand a chance.

I'd email them in the first place with your circumstances, then you'll find if it's worth persuing.

Most countries strongly prefer their own nationality on Antarctic bases, but there is some flexibility. Usually you won't be recruited if you can't attend interview in the relevant country.
