A full color map of the Antarctic Peninsula at a scale of 1:12,500,000, designed for the shipboard traveller by veteran expedition leader Nigel Sitwell. It covers the range of most Antarctic voyages from Tierra del Fuego, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Peninsula south to Marguerite Bay. It also includes detailed insets of South Georgia and the complex channels and islands of the Palmer Archipelago including Paradise Bay, the Lemaire and Neumeyer channels. An inset shows an enlargement of Ross Island and McMurdo Sound.

On the reverse a 1:7,000,000 scale map of the north of Graham Land with the Scotia Sea and the southern tip of South America are complemented by insets of an enlargement of the Danco Coast and Anvers and Brabant Islands and of South Georgia, colour photos of wildlife and landscape and a scheme of the division into claimed areas according to the Antarctic Treaty.

In 1997, in a joint project conducted by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and NASA, the satellite Radarsat I imaged the Antarctic in its entirety. The resulting data enabled researchers to fill in the gaps on existing maps. This map uses hill-shading to present the terrain and identifies many peaks, glaciers and research stations. Annotated to briefly present topics such as ice sheet thickness, winds and ice flow velocity.
