Barbour of England
There are a few items
of clothing that are quintessentially redolent of the English
Countryside and the Barbour Jacket is one of them. Barbour
has been setting the standard since 1894
Barbour waxed jackets are
stylish in an understated manner, immensely practical, comfortable
and comfortingly traditional in appearance and feel.
They are the perfect garment
for squire, gamekeeper and poacher alike. Fitting over a
smart business suit as readily as they slip on over a sweater
for walking the dog.
Barbour jackets are owned
and worn by people from all walks of life and of all kinds
of lifestyles from farmers to poachers to lawyers (and the
English Royal Family too!). They are an investment that
lasts for years and like all classic garments will look
as stylish in 10 years as they do today.
They can be used in a whole
range of temperatures from the almost tropical to freezing,
there are linings that readily attach to the jacket for
colder temperatures and they form a great outer-shell layer.

Barbour Wax Cotton
materials are all manufactured exclusively to
a unique specification. The material is made
from finest 100% long staple Egyptian Cotton
and is treated with special oil and wax to ensure
it is totally wind and waterproof. It is available
in heavy or medium weight finishes and can easily
be reproofed. |
I purchased
my first Barbour in 1990, have worn it in conditions ranging
from Chicago blizzards, Tokyo typhoons, pub crawls through
London. I own no other garment that so perfectly fuses sentimental
attachment, functionality and timeless style. I intend to

totally waterproof, windproof and breathable. Endurance
fabric combines Cordura® and Lycra® for durability with
exceptional freedom of movement. Despite light weight, Cordura
has two times the abrasion resistance of comparable nylon
fabrics. Additional features such as nylon flap storm cuffs,
easy-access cartridge pockets and machine washability, it's
got everything a great shooting jacket needs. |
