Smoko time in the early days of the summer journey (September 1972). The troops (left to right Malc McArthur, Bob Wyeth and Miles Mosley) don't look exactly happy despite the sunny weather. It was a wee bit chilly at -33C and surfaces, although reasonably solid were very 'sandy' making it hard work for both dogs and men. At this point we were traveling with another unit (Geology - Bob & Miles) hence the three fids in the shot plus me as photographer. Miles was killed in a plane accident at Halley Bay some years later. |
