The RRS Bransfield (now retired) left on its maiden voyage in Jan 1971. I was lucky enough to be kept on board and had the opportunity to visit all of the BAS bases including Halley Bay. This shot was taken in a virtually ice free Weddell Sea en route to Halley. |
