Signy - Off on our holidays! Early
one morning, just as the dawn was breaking, Minus 28°C or something silly and the sea had frozen solid, so off we went dragging a quarter of a ton behind us on a sledge to the delights of Coronation Island. Ice flowers on the sea (all of about an inch or so thick, but very hard - shhhh, don't tell BAS) and using exactly the same design of harness that Captain Scott and his party used in 1912, but then it was 1986. |
