Having walked across a few miles of frozen sea, it was time to set up camp, time was of the essence as daylight was short and scarce. It was about -25C here, which made it an uncomfortable job, though fortunately there was no wind. The tents are traditional pyramid types which are spacious inside, relatively easy to erect in appalling conditions, but most importantly can withstand weeks of blizzard and howling gale at scarily low temperatures without blowing away or falling down. |
