The design of Jamesways dates from the Korean War. They are tents and can be readily taken down and re-erected, but as can be seen from this picture, they are quite unlike your average idea of a tent. They are semi-permanent in nature with ducted heating, heavy metal hoops, plywood end walls and significant insulation.
