After the sea-ice has formed, the tides still rise and fall. The ice therefore doesn't entirely fit at high or low tide and so forms various structures, regular or random. This grounded lump between the two rocks is a particularly splendid example, when the tide rises again, the piece that spans the two rocks will be floating again. this must be at a low spring tide.
