Used as they run off a range of fuels and don't need to be connected to the electricity supply when a big surge in power for cooking dinner could result in the genny stalling. When I was on base in the mid 80's the Agas ran on aviation kerosene from a 40 gallon drum on the back slope which the cook had to go and change every now and then when it emptied.
