Above Signy base is a short cliff face known as the "Bluffs". These have been the workplace of many terrestrial biologists over the years and also a good vantage point to take pictures of the base. The green areas that can be seen are moss and lichens which in places can cover the ground with a vivid and dense greenery as grasses can in other parts of the world.
