These are the parts for three wind mills that the Kiwis will be erecting in the summer of 2009-2010. It's a joint project with the New Zealanders taking the lead, and it should provide all the power that Scott Base requires. However, they will still be tied in to the overall grid, and will be able to receive power from the generators at McMurdo Station if necessary. It is intended as a pilot project, and if it works well more wind mills may be erected to provide the bulk of power for McMurdo Station as well.
