Curt went up on this platform and didn't even know there was a penguin beneath him. I told him to hold still for a picture but he didn't know what was going on. After I had taken a few pictures I clued him in - he was surprised. The penguin was hiding out by the wastewater and brine discharge. At first we thought this might be a case of a penguin going off to die, but later found out that this is molting season. I'm calling this penguin "Ruffles" because the loose feathers around the neck look like ruffles, but the use of this name is not widespread. Actually, it's just me and Ken, and Ken may have already forgotten.
